UNIT4 Business Software a Finalist in Prestigious VIATeC Technology Awards

Victoria, B.C. and Dallas, TX – UNIT4 Business Software (www.unit4software.com), developer of the agile Agresso Business World (ABW) ERP software platform for Businesses Living IN Change (BLINC), has been selected as a finalist for the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Centre (VIATeC) 2010 Technology Awards from among scores of nominees in two categories, “Technology Company of the Year” and the “Employer of the Year.”

The Technology Company of the Year award recognizes a Vancouver Island company that has demonstrated excellence in innovation and a commitment to the technology community while embracing sound business fundamentals.

As the locally based subsidiary of a worldwide company, UNIT4 Business Software has been successfully expanding its business throughout North America. In what was a challenging 2009 for many organizations, UNIT4 Business Software reported a strong performance, with revenues up an impressive 11 percent and EBITDA more than doubled from 2008.

The group’s performance was driven by several factors, including more wins against ERP giants Oracle, SAP and Microsoft, as well as an increase in the number of orders worth more than $1 million. This compares to leading market rivals such as SAP who have seen year-over-year declines in new license revenues. Significant new clients include King County Housing Authority, the Louisiana Supreme Court, International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI), Consolidated Chassis Management LLC, LIN Television Corporation, Yancey Bros Co. and Thompson Tractor. UNIT4 Business Software employs a total of 106 people across North America and continues to grow its employment base in Victoria.

The group’s rich business pipeline has continued to grow in 2010 and it has marked a new era in its growth with a transition to a new name and website, to unify the worldwide ABW user community with a common identity and brand.
